As a scientist, photojournalist, conservationist, and ocean advocate, he dedicates his time to preserving our oceans for future generations through his charity, Just One Ocean. For the 2025 Go Diving Show, David will introduce three rising marine scientists from the University of Portsmouth who are making waves in conservation research. They\u2019ll share their findings on seahorse habitats, kelp reef degradation, and intertidal forests, highlighting the crucial role of marine science in protecting our oceans.<\/p>

Joe Sargent \u2013 Investigating the decline of kelp reefs (Laminaria sp.) around the Isle of Wight, exploring possible causes and the rise of competing macroalgal species.<\/p>

Georgia Sharpe-Harris \u2013 Studying intertidal broadleaf forests found around UK estuaries, drawing parallels to tropical mangroves to better understand and protect these unique coastal ecosystems.<\/p>
